Tips on Selecting a Wedding Gift for Bride & Groom

Wed, 08 Apr 2015

Selecting a suitable wedding gift can be challenging. You are probably thinking—do they need this? Do they want this? All this second-guessing can make the selection process more difficult. That said, there are a few basic things to consider when picking the right wedding gift for the bride and groom. Here are some tips that can help you get something the couple will appreciate and will like, and most importantly, a gift that they can treasure forever.

Check if they have a bridal registry.

This is the first thing you should do. Most couples will have chosen items from one or more stores and online shops. A bridal registry would give you an idea on what the couple want to receive as gifts for their new life together. Toasters, TVs, a kettle, and linen are among the items that you can typically find in bridal registries, but it is now common to find gadgets, gift vouchers, and items that are related to the couple’s hobbies and interests. Keep in mind that the registry is just a guide, though. You are not obligated to buy one of the items on the registry and the couple will not be disappointed if you give them something different and equally memorable.

Try personalised gifts.

Personalised gifts can be excellent wedding presents, too. There are many kinds of wedding gifts that you can personalise for the bride and groom. Engraving a special message or the names of the bride and groom on a silver plated photo frame can make it more special and sentimental for the occasion. A pair of Swarovski crystal heart wine glasses can be a romantic gift for newlyweds, especially when you have their names engraved on the glasses. Why not add a bottle of personalised wedding champagne with their names on it, too?
